Halo on ps2 and ps3?

With all this talk of Bungie exclusivity to Microsoft with HALO, it reminds me of a deal made between Sony and Rockstar. Rockstar pledged to Sony that the GTA series would be exclusive to Sony for release on its Playstations and now the PSP, however, a few months after the release of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was released for the PS2, guess what came out for Microsoft's Xbox? Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This may be a different situation as Sony does not own Rockstar, but it just goes to show that 1st OR 3rd party developers can change sides faster than John Kerry.

naa thats different.

Rockstar games is a 3rd party developer, Sony only had a contract right with them on GTA for a certain amount of year, which Rocksta had to honor. once that ended though they moved the title for mutiplatform.(same thing is happening with Capcoms Resident Evil).. and we saw it happen with Konami's Silent Hill series.

also rockstar aslo put out a pack on xbox that had GTA 3 and GTA vice city... this occured before San Andreas.

Please..... please tell me you're joking. Attempting to infer or relate precedents in order to make the idea of "Halo on Playstation" some-what plausible, is down right stupid and just plain retarded.

sheesh...pxg you may want to read drifters post again...he was saying that it is a completely different situation and then saying why...

in essence he was shooting down the idea of halo on PS becuase microsoft owns bungie and sony only had contracts with the other companies and when the contracts ran out they made the games multiplatform...since bungie isn't under contract then it will never run out and halo will never be on the PS2-3-or even 4 for that matter...as long as sony doesn't get bought out by microsoft...or maybe sony buy out microsoft's interests in XBox...that'd be packed full of irony...

Actually rien, M$ dont own Bungie, bungie is an independant co. M$ owns Halo, well in part anyway. Back to the point, In the beginning m$ gave the small Bungie a chance to make a game for them for their new console, ok so they made halo, it sold well to say the least, then they made halo 2, it sold alot better, so now bungie is big, big enough to peel itself away from M$, so although we will probably never see halo on a Playstation or Nintendo, we could see alot more big profile bungie games move away from M$ platforms.

right around the start of the halo part it talks about the deal...

and from what the site says later on it looks like they were having trouble getting it to work on PS2 anyways...

but that site hasn't been updated since 2004 so MS might have sold Bungie off but i doubt it...

You can still buy halo 1 for the PC. Its fun enough. :)

I definately think it will be better for the makers if it came out on the PS2 & 3, profit wise.
But I highly doubt that they will relese it for the PSes.....
They most probably have a business deal with microsoft.....
